Tahini Cake (Tahinopita)

Tahini Cake

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of self-raising flour
  • 1 cup tahini sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups caster sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup raisins
  • ½ cup cognac
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cloves

Method:

  1. This cake is frequently made during Lent.
  2. Add all ingredients in a bowl excluding the flour and mix well for a few minutes.
  3. Add the flour and mix well for another few minutes.
  4. Butter and dust a baking tray with flour.
  5. Add the mixture in the baking tray and bake for 50-60 minutes in 160C.
  6. Enjoy your Tahini Cake!
