Tahini Cake (Tahinopita)
Tahini Cake
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of self-raising flour
- 1 cup tahini sauce
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 cups caster sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup raisins
- ½ cup cognac
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 orange zest
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp cloves
Method:
- This cake is frequently made during Lent.
- Add all ingredients in a bowl excluding the flour and mix well for a few minutes.
- Add the flour and mix well for another few minutes.
- Butter and dust a baking tray with flour.
- Add the mixture in the baking tray and bake for 50-60 minutes in 160C.
