Light Orange Flavoured Cake


  • 250gr self-raising flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 225gr caster sugar
  • Zest of one orange
  • ½ cup of corn oil
  • ½ cup of freshly squeezed orange juice



  1. Beat the sugar and corn oil until fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at the time and beat well.
  3. Mix in the orange zest and juice.
  4. Gradually add the flour with a pinch of salt. If mixture is dry add some more orange juice.
  5. Grease a long cake tin and pour the mixture.
  6. If you want you can pour half the mixture, then add a few spoonful’s of chocolate & hazelnut spread and cover with the rest of the cake mixture.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 170C for about 35- 40 mins.
  8. Ideal for a light dessert or even breakfast.
