Chickpea and Tahini Dip

This Chickpea and Tahini dip is something we always make when we want a quick easy dip to serve with crisps, vegetables and crackers.  It’s a delicious, refreshing and light dip to serve as an appetizer and impress your friends.

Ingredients:

  • 400gr chickpeas
  • 3 tbsps tahini
  • 4 tbsps lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsps olive oil
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of sweet paprika powder
  • Mint leaves(optional)

Method:

  1. In order to make this Dip quickly it’s best to use ready chickpeas that you can buy in a tin.
  2. If not then you have to let the chickpeas soak in hot water for at least an hour, drain the water and cook.
  3. Place the soaked beans in a large saucepan and cover with water.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer.
  5. Let the beans cool and you can then use the beans to make the dip.
  6. Making the dip is very simple all you need in a food processor.
  7. Combine all the ingredients, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic cloves, salt, paprika and mint leaves.
  8. Blend in a food processor and carefully pour in the olive oil.
  9. Transfer the dip in a little bowl and serve with vegetables or tortilla chips.
  10. Enjoy as an appetizer!
