Upside down Apple Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups plain flour
- 250gr butter
- 4 eggs
- Orange zest and orange juice
- 2 ½ cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking
- 1 vanilla
- A bit of salt
- 50gr brandy
- 4-5 apples
- 100gr walnuts
- 100gr raisins
Method
- Wash the apples, peel, core and cut them in wedges.
- Place them in a bowl of water with some lemon.
- In a 28cm round tin, put half the butter and melt it in the oven.
- Sprinkle 1-2 tbs of sugar, cinnamon and arrange the apple wedges, raisins and walnuts.
- In a mixing bowl, put the rest of butter, sugar and mix well until fluffy.
- Add one egg at a time and whisk.
- Add orange zest and juice, brandy, vanilla and baking powder.
- Add flour, whisk and pour over the apples.
- Bake at 150c for 40-50 minutes.
- Enjoy your simple but tasty Apple cake!
